    Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a fee to recycle electronics at EWaste Phoenix?

Most electronics are recycled free of charge for both businesses and residents in Phoenix, AZ — computers, laptops, phones, tablets, servers, printers, cables, and networking gear all carry no drop-off fee. Flat-panel monitors — LCD, LED and OLED — are free. CRT/tube monitors are billed by weight at $2 per lb, the same as any other CRT. Televisions carry a recycling fee: $25 per flat-screen TV, or $2 per lb for CRT/tube, plasma and projection sets, billed by weight. Large solar panel loads (10+ panels) may require a call ahead.

Do I need an appointment to drop off electronics?

No appointment is required for standard drop-offs Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM at 1721 W. Rose Garden Ln Suite 3, Phoenix, AZ 85027. Weekend drop-offs are by appointment only. For business pickups, large CRT loads, or 10+ solar panels, please call (877) 321-4823 to coordinate.

Do you recycle old TVs, including CRT and flat-screen?

Yes. We recycle TVs of every size and type — flat-screen LED, LCD, OLED, QLED, smart TVs, and older CRT/tube TVs. Televisions carry a recycling fee because of the specialized handling and hazardous materials involved — a CRT holds 4–8 lbs of lead in its glass, and LCD backlights contain mercury: $25 per flat-screen TV, or $2 per lb for CRT/tube, plasma and projection sets, billed by weight. Flat-panel monitors — LCD, LED and OLED — are free. CRT/tube monitors are billed by weight at $2 per lb, the same as any other CRT. For volumes over 10 units please call ahead so we can stage the load properly.

How do I safely recycle a CRT monitor or tube TV?

Bring it to our Phoenix facility during business hours. CRTs contain 4-8 lbs of lead in the glass funnel, and we process them through vetted downstream partners that recover the leaded glass and metals — never landfill, never export. Either one is billed by weight at $2 per lb — a CRT monitor and a CRT television are the same leaded-glass job. Single units can be dropped off any time; for 10+ units, call (877) 321-4823.

Is my data safe when I drop off a device?

Yes. Every data-bearing device — hard drives, SSDs, phones, tablets, copiers, NAS units — is processed under our NIST 800-88 compliant chain of custody and destroyed per NIST SP 800-88 Rev. 2 standards. You can request a Certificate of Destruction (issued within 24 hours) for any device you drop off.

What is your service area for free business pickup?

We provide free pickup throughout the Greater Phoenix metropolitan area — Phoenix, Scottsdale, Tempe, Mesa, Chandler, Gilbert, Glendale, Peoria, Surprise, and surrounding Maricopa County cities. Pickup is free for qualifying volumes (typically one full pallet or larger, or a full IT refresh).

Do you accept solar panels for recycling?

Yes. We recycle residential and commercial solar panels, inverters, and controllers. Single panels can be dropped off any time, but for loads of 10 or more panels please call (877) 321-4823 ahead so we can schedule a free pickup or stage the drop-off properly.

What kinds of batteries do you accept?

We accept lithium-ion (laptop, phone, tablet, power tool), UPS and lead-acid batteries, and alkaline batteries (AA, AAA, C, D). We do NOT accept automotive vehicle batteries or propane tanks — those require an automotive recycler or hazardous waste facility.

What brands of electronics do you accept?

All brands. We recycle Apple, Dell, HP, Lenovo, Asus, Acer, Microsoft, Samsung, Google, LG, Sony, Toshiba, IBM, Cisco, Juniper, NetApp, EMC, and every other consumer and enterprise brand. Brand does not affect whether we accept the item or charge a fee.

What documentation do I receive after recycling?

Residential drop-offs receive a drop-off receipt on request. Business clients receive a full documentation package: Certificate of Recycling, Certificate of Data Destruction (serialized per device, issued within 24 hours), chain-of-custody record, and weight/material summary for ESG reporting. All documents are audit-ready for HIPAA, SOX, GLBA, and FACTA compliance.

Do you recycle old TVs, LCD, and CRT monitors for offices?

Yes, we recycle old TVs, LCD flat panels, and CRT monitors from offices and commercial facilities across Phoenix. All display equipment is processed under our R2v3 certification, ensuring hazardous components like mercury backlights and leaded CRT glass are handled responsibly. We provide bulk pickups for businesses only. Ask about volume-based commercial recycling for large display refreshes.
